On May 25th 2013 / Ginbot 17 2005 the Rastafari Council of Great Britain held an event in Fairfield House, Bath. This is the place where His Imperial Majesty Qedamawi Haile Selassie resided during the Italian invasion of Ethiopia 1936 – 1941.
This was a truly blessed event and I would encourage ones to visit the house if / when they are in England. There were people from all over the country there and also from Wales. Ones came from Bath, Bristol, London & Oxford and more.
The Jamaican High Commissioner was also present.
The event was lead by Rt Hon Binghi Congo-Nyah and Ras Tony Tafari who presented reasonings. Ras Tony also read His Majesty’s Statement to the 1963 African Summit. There was a reasoning from Ras Robbie Shilliam. A poem was read by a sistren from the Empress Menen Foundation. Dr Shawn Naphtali was in charge of filming and photography.
There was also reasoning from some of the other idrens present.
It is very important for ones to rally round to help restore and preserve this important part of I&I heritage and Istory.
