Re: IRASCOM will be shutting down for the period of June 5th, 2005 – July 5th, 2005
Coming out of the Panama Summit
2005, and after receiving such an overwhelming amount of support, The InIversal
RasTafarI Community International will be going through the following changes,
which will prove more productive in the long run; we trust that these decisions
are in the best interest of the organization and its membership.
1) IRASCOM will be shutting down for the period of June 5th,
2005 – July 5th, 2005. This shutdown is an executive decision that will allow IRASCOM
INT’L time to refocus, regroup and re-strategize our efforts and missions
producing a more inclusive body. This time will help the members of the Interim
Committee catch up on a lot of much needed work as we have been swamped with
emails, requests and documents that all need processing, filing and attending to. Members of the MSN GROUPS managed by IRASCOM
INT’L can continue posting and using the message boards but we (the Interim
Steering Committee) will not be posting during this period. The management team
will be monitoring the posts to ensure that they are productive and within the
rules set by IRASCOM for the message boards. A copy of the rules will also be
posted and linked to the Message Boards.
Please Note: This is NOT a vacation period. All executives, officials,
representatives, committee members, appointed workers, ambassadors, and other
workers of IRASCOM INT’L are still expected to report to work and complete
their various assigned duties.
Exemption
from the Shutdown: The following are also
exempted from the IRASCOM shutdown and will carry out their regular duties: (a)
IRASCOM JOURNAL, (b) IRASCOM RADIO, (c) IRASCOM ONLINE STORE, (d) IRASCOM
WEBSITE, (e) IRASCOM CD PROJECT &
(f) IRASCOM BOOK DRIVE!
2) The ISC – Interim Steering Committee has been assigned new roles
effective immediately. The new roles were
decided as each person can concentrate on their department instead of us being
all over the place. Each division will hire volunteers for their
department, if any members are interesting, still interested in doing works for
us, please email us @ Irascom@yahoo.com or Irascom@hotmail.com. A list of the members of the ISC and new roles will be
made available in short order as we are awaiting confirmation.
3) Very good news, IRASCOM is moving to a new website which
will host our own Forums; there’ll be more information to come in the
next couple of weeks. All members that are currently in the MSN group
will be able to join the group. Stay tuned for more information. As
soon as everything is situated also, this MSN group will be closed.
4)
Last but not least, I’m proud to
say that www.irascom.cjb.net has
received the site award from Rasta Ites (www.rastaites.com), which will be
linked from their site in the links section and the Featured Sites Section.
Give thanks Rasta Ites for recognizing the positive works that IRASCOM is doing
and MANY praises to JAH RASTAFARI for being faithful to us.
