Give I the Teachings of His Majesty

I see many ones coming with so many diverse doctrines and diverse ideas about what Ras Tafari is and it saddens I to see so much disunity of doctrine leading to tribalism and mansionism and all kinds of isms and schisms. I do not come saying that I am right and everyone else is wrong. I know that all of InI are on an Iritical journey and that everyone's opinions change as they grow wiser and learn more. My question is if InI do not follow the teachings of His Majesty as concerns, life, the Bible, Irituality etc then how can InI say He is God, how can InI say he is King?

I have read many posts on Rastafari boards online seeking to discredit the Bible and Yesus Christ even though this is contrary to His teachings. I am not pointing fingers......... who the cap fits..

I have read many books that expound various theories about certain things especially the nature of the Yesus Christ and what “really” happened 2000 years ago. For example where he lived, how he was raised, what he preached, whether he was married, whether he had children etc etc etc. Even some ones have said that He never existed, that it is just a fable stolen from Kemet. Some say that His story is the same as that of Horus, Krisna etc......... even if this is so, does it mean it is not true?

From all these readings I have formed the following opinions

1.      No one will ever know exactly what happened unless someone invents a time-machine
2.      If you have a theory and you look hard enough you will find the evidence to prove it. “Seek and ye shall find”
3.      Once you have gathered this evidence, it is easy to write a book which will convince those who have no time (or desire) to do their own research. Even if you say it is fiction people will believe it e.g. Dan Brown's book the Da Vinci Code.
4.      It is easy to convince anyone of anything using a variety of quotes taken out of context from different sources or even the same source. Isn't this what certain preachers have always done with the Bible, the Koran and other religious texts.

Why is it that some people are so ready to believe anything they read that condemns the Bible? Maybe because they are secretly scared that the Bible contains the truth. I am not saying that we shouldn’t read books that expound these theories, still we should read them bearing the above points in mind + the following

1.      Most of the events discussed occurred in Incient History.
2.      Most were not written down at the time
3.      Those that were have been written from the cultural perspective of the time and using writing styles that might be totally different from our own

To explain my point – talk to someone from a different culture about their family & social structures and reasons for behaving in certain ways. It is very hard to comprehend because you are coming from a different mindset. Remember how the Europeans easily stole North America off a people who had no concept of land ownership. InI are all products of our upbringing and the values of the society around us. Things that seem as nothing to us are a deep shame in other cultures and vice versa.

Now imagine life 100 years ago even here in the the UK life and values were totally different. Most women were housewives, most people had never left the UK, and the way people were dealt with was totally different. Certain people had no rights, women were not even allowed to vote and, for example, unmarried mothers were put in mental asylums along many others not considered mad today:

“1913
The Mental Deficiency Act 1913
......
Moral Defectives ~ criminal or vicious personalities. Unmarried Mothers also became absorbed into this category!”

Taken from http://www.institutions.org.uk/poor_law_unions/imbeciles.htm - my emphasis.

Now put both the above together and imagine how different life in a different culture was 100 years ago!

Now go one step further and imagine how different life in another country would have been 2000 years ago. I try to visualise how the people then would have seen the world and life and find even this very difficult if not impossible – no matter how many books I read on the subject.

The Bible as we know it, just records events. It does not deal with emotions, culture or the lives of ordinary people. We do not know how Abraham felt when God appeared to him, we can only guess at the upbringing that Moses had in the courts of the Pharaoh and how this affected his later dealings with the Children of Israel. The films that Hollyweird makes puts USA culture and feelings into the main Bible characters…… anyone can see that it is total nonsense.

Anyway I am straying from the point of this article which is this – all we know for sure is what His Majesty taught us:
Here are some examples of His Majesty's teachings.

1.      "When Jesus Christ was born from Virgin Mary, from that time on He lived an exemplary life, a life which men everywhere must emulate. This Life and the Faith that He taught us assures us of salvation, assures us also of harmony and a good life upon Earth. Because of the exemplary character of the life of Jesus Christ it is necessary that all men do their maximum in their human efforts to see to it that they approximate as much as they can the good example that has been set by Him.” Full speech here

2.      "Today man sees all his hopes and aspirations crumbling before him. He is perplexed and knows not whither he is drifting. But he must realize that the Bible is his refuge and the rallying point for all humanity. In it man will find the solution to his present difficulties and guidance for this future action, and unless he accepts with clear conscience the Bible and its great message, he cannot hope for salvation. For my part I glory in the Bible." More

3.      "It is our conviction that all the activities of the children of men, which are not guided by the Spirit and council of God will bear no lasting fruits; they will not be acceptable in the sight of God. It will therefore come to naught as the tower of Babel came to naught. The grace of God is Eternal. Angels in Heaven and the Creation on Earth sing His Praise. We thank the Master of the world Almighty God. Power belongs to God. May God Our Creator, the Helper and Guiding Light of us all grant you His Wisdom that you may bear fruits for His Glory.” More

4.      “The problems that confront us today are, equally, unprecedented. They have no counterparts in human experience. Men search the pages of history for solutions, for precedents, but there are none. This, then, is the ultimate challenge. Where are we to look for our survival, for the answers to the questions which have never before been posed? We must look, first, to Almighty God, Who has raised man above the animals and endowed him with intelligence and reason. We must put our faith in Him, that He will not desert us or permit us to destroy humanity, which He created in His image. And we must look into ourselves, into the depth of our souls. We must become something we have never been and for which our education and experience and environment have ill-prepared us. We must become bigger than we have been, more courageous, greater in spirit, larger in outlook. We must become members of a new race, overcoming petty prejudice, owing our ultimate allegiance not to nations but to our fellow men within the human community." From the “War” speech
