Don Letts’ reputation has been firmly established in both the film and music world by a substantial body of work from the late 70’s through the 80’s, 90’s and well into the millennium.

He came to notoriety in the 70’s as the DJ that single-handedly turned a whole generation of punks onto reggae. Letts presented ‘Culture Clash Radio’ on BBC 6 Music and still D.J’s nationally and internationally.

He has worked with music legends such as the Sex Pistols, The Clash, Gil Scot-Heron and The Jam.

To start off the evening Middlesbrough Town Hall we will play host to the premiere of the newly released and eagerly anticipated documentary, Rudeboy: The Story of Trojan Records. Combining archive footage, interviews and drama, Rudeboy is a film about the love affair between Jamaican and British youth culture, told through the prism of one of the most iconic labels in the history of black music, Trojan Records.
