Tabernacle Reconstructiom WaitiKubuli Dominica

Friends, family..I N I greet you once again in the beautiful name of His Imperial Majesty, most glorious and majestic name of RastafarI Haile Sellassie I the first… It is with great pleasure that we write to you this day, to share our thoughts our love and our feelings…and pray that you receive this all in good spirits… Our trip to the UK was wonderful, we had high expectations and the creator in his own ways has aided I N I in the fulfillment of these things….and we give thanks with all our heart we give thanks…

However on return to Jamaica we were confronted with the disappointing news that our beloved Tabernacle in Dominica I N I beautiful island Waitukubuli had been burnt to the ground…Our place of worship, and gatherings, where we come together as family to plant..teach and learn..where we hold meetings and congregate. Where our youths play and sistrens and brethrens sing and rejoice reason even argue about matters concerning us and us alone…Truly it was sad news.

For years the Tabernacle had been just a dream for I N I.. always in the planning stage,, always raising funds and collecting material to put it all together…The planting grounds the woman quarters the brethren quarters..the kitchen, library…and of course the Tabernacle it self… Finally a few years ago after the mounting up of the main building, the Tabernacle we were privileged to have celebrated Nayabingi with royalty..in our new structure.. Little by little everything else was beginning to come into place…the quarters were not yet completed but there was a separate place on a higher region for us to rest the youths when they fell asleep ,a kitchen and a place to store books and equipment…the garden was beautiful filled with herbs and vegetables….and we are grateful even if it is no longer here we are still grateful…because the brethrens and sistrens used their talent to build it up strong ,with no help from any construction company…

It was a sight to behold ,, in the shape of a ring, with 12 strong pillars holding it up and one in the center raising the double roof which the brethren built overlapping each other, allowing the air to freely pass through at the top..It was a joy just to be in her..I close my eyes and I can still hear the drums the voices of the brethren dem overpowering daughters…so happy man was just to sing Ises even if it was so often off key….

It brings a smile to our face just to remember the strength that it represented..coming from a land whose history with RastafarI the dreads and the dread act back in the 70’s (for those who are not aware please read it up in my blog page under the title dread act)…Truly all was proud…and we still are.. The fire which is kept a good distance away always ablaze and youths forever fascinated with the flame…throwing what ever twigs and rocks they can find just to see the sparks go up into the night..When the thunder of the Boom begins and the drums start to roll and the heart beat commence they would all run towards the altar which is set in the center and run rounds and rounds around it till they get tired..

We have been away from Dominica for three years now, with occasional trips for concerts and visiting friends and family…We were there for the 2nd of November last year and was grateful to have illebrated this wonderful occasion with I N I RastafarI family at the Tabernacle in our beloved Dominica. Big brother Wa and his Empress Mavwa whom we love to call Hotter Fyah,, Ras Man and his queen Abina..Gantrotts and his Empress Annie and their youths..Brother Imani ,Ras Tosh..Ras Ballo…Ras Kasate and his everlasting fyary speech….Siser Naya and soo many more I remember wishing my youths were present and sad that they were so far away…observing how in three years their little brethrens had all grown so much and already started beating the drums…. This year we celebrated African Liberation Day at small gathering in London and we couldn’t help but drift and focus on the gathering taking place in Dominica, at the same time, half way across the world in our own piece of Zion…the same songs the same utterances..and almost the same faces…

The thoughts and feelings going through us were extremely emotional…I N I had never experienced an Ises in the concrete jungle before…We looked around the building and visioned the Dominican landscape through the walls of their concrete structure..It was almost like we were up there in the hills once again..You see our Tabanacle was built with no walls just those 12 pillars that held up the roof…beautiful painted in red Yellow and green…

Today the roof the Pillars…,the altar, banners, flags, books, the pictures from years and years of memories and most importantly the historical drums that have been with us through out these years some before we were even born have all been burnt to the ground..What ever reason or explanations there is for the burning down of our beloved , we choose not to focus because like His Imperial Majesty has shown us to forgiven those who have done Harm to Ethiopia ,so do we in keeping with his ways and his example,…only wishing them love on their journey …instead we will focus or rebuilding a structure that we can once again gather and unite….as One RastafarI Family..and again the earth will see that David continue to prevail over Goliath ….

Today we are appealing to all those who would love to contribute to this reconstruction…whether it be through books, banners ,flags ,,drums,,,documents documentaries, and of course financially to buy materials to put it all together once again…I N I people have come a long way from the days of the the dread act and the numerous amout of brothers and sisters we have lost in the struggle to uphold I N I livity as RastafarI .

Through out the years most of us have resisted the temptation to pick up arms against I N I enemies , still we have become victorious..just to be here today standing amongst those who have trodded over hills and precipice under cliffs and over deadly rivers escaped gunshots blood thirsty dogs poison, beatings and left for dead so that I N I can stand firm today and Hail his Imperial Majesty with pride and dignity…knowing that Rasta blood is seed…to every drop a new FarI have come forward and today we are strong even through our trials we emerge even stronger….. Jah RastafarI is Mightyfulll Haile Selassie I the first is MightyFull the conquering Lion of the Tribe of Judah is Mightifull let H.I.M be praised
