On May 25th 2013 / Ginbot 17 2005 the Rastafari Council of Great Britain held an event in Fairfield House, Bath. This is the place where His Imperial Majesty Qedamawi Haile Selassie resided during the Italian invasion of Ethiopia 1936 – 1941.

About thirty intellectuals and a wide public including Rastafari people, from Africa and the African Diaspora, gathered in the Old Plenary Hall of the African Union on May 17 and 18, 2013 on the occasion of the symposium “Being Pan-African”

The city of Addis Ababa was bursting with joy and pride from May 25th through May 27th, as hundreds of visitors descended on it to participate in the 50th anniversary of the founding of the OAU/AU.

May 25th is Africa Day, the official day of the African Union. It is an opportunity to celebrate African diversity and success, and join Africans around the world in highlighting the cultural and social energy of the continent. It is A DAY to remember of all struggles, sacrifices and hardships led by our African ancestors for giving us this opportunity of pride to be an African.
